Rick Amos is the chairman of Amos Media. He is also president of Surtreat International, a specialty-chemical business that provides turnkey solutions designed to extend the useful life of reinforced concrete structures, and the founder and CEO of Rainy Day LLC, a private equity investment firm.
Rick began his career in sales and marketing with Xerox Corporation in Southern California. He moved into corporate finance, where he directed sales and marketing in the northeastern U.S. Prior to his current positions, Rick became a partner with Entact Inc., a provider of environmental consulting, design and remediation services, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, operations and human resources. Entact was listed as one of Inc. Magazine’s 500 Fasting Growing Companies in 1997.
He earned a BS in business administration from Miami University (Ohio), with majors in finance and marketing. Rick serves on Miami’s Foundation Board of Trustees, where he is chairman of the Development Committee; has served two terms on the Farmer School of Business Advisory Council; and has been appointed chairman of the newly formed Athletic Director’s Advisory Board.
Rick lives with his wife and three children in Lake Forest, Ill.
Jane Volland has been chief financial officer of Amos Media since July 2013. Prior to joining Amos, Jane served in chief financial officer and senior finance roles with Reed Elsevier and Putman Media.
Jane possesses extensive experience at one of the largest global publishers and information providers at Reed Elsevier (FTSE 100). She was responsible for up to 60 brands in 10 industry sectors; and represented $500 million in revenue and 500 employees. Respected as an innovative business partner with strong management, analytic and communication skills, Jane possesses a passion for excellence and an unwavering dedication to the organization’s success. Jane was the financial lead for multiple acquisitions, divestitures and product introductions, and is experienced in organizational restructuring to enhance growth and profitability. She played a key role in the transformation of Amos Media from a traditional print publisher to a multi-platform media company.
Jane earned her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
She and her family live in the Chicago area.
