Coin World supports 2014 American Numismatic Association World's Fair of Money

Chicago, IL (August 9, 2014) - Coin World was a title sponsor of the American Numismatic Association World's Fair of Money, held August 5 to 9, 2014, in Rosemont, Ill.

Jenny Fukumoto, Amos Media's Audience Development and Brand Marketing Manager, organized Coin World's booth on the ANA bourse floor. "Because we've recently re-designed the Coin World website and elements of the print magazine, we wanted to unveil a new look in conjunction with this summer's biggest U.S. coin show," she said, adding, "it was invigorating to meet hundreds of collectors who have been loyal readers of Coin World for decades, and exciting to introduce new people to our brand."

Coin World sponsored the appraisal table on August 9 where hundreds of collectors received verbal evaluations of their rare coins from experts in the field and received a copy of Coin World's annual Guide to U.S. Coin Values.

Coin World's editor-in-chief, Steve Roach, volunteered his time as an ANA educational exhibit judge and was a guest on the ANA's live broadcast of "The Coin Show" where he addressed Coin World's commitment to reaching readers through both traditional and non-traditional media.

Nearly 40 collectors attended Roach's ANA Money Talks presentation on August 8 titled, "Some Trends That are Shaping the Rare Coin Market Right Now." Jeff Starck, Coin World's senior editor, world coins, assisted in the roundtable which featured substantial audience participation as attendees discussed how news-making events affect their everyday collecting.

The American Numismatic Association and Coin World share a commitment to educating collectors and Coin World's senior editor Paul Gilkes and writer Joe O'Donnell provided breaking, comprehensive coverage of the 2014-W gold Kennedy half dollar that launched at the show, across both traditional print media, in online coverage and through social media networks including Facebook and Twitter.

Coin World's editorial staff has received several honors from the ANA over the past several years. Earlier this year ANA President Walt Ostromecki presented Roach with a Presidential Award and in 2013 Gilkes received the Burnett Anderson Memorial Award for Excellence in Numismatic Writing (jointly presented by the American Numismatic Society and the Numismatic Literary Guild). Coin World's former editor and current columnist Beth Deisher was inducted into the ANA's Hall of Fame in 2013 and in 2010 received the Farran Zerbe Memorial Award, the organization's highest honor.
